The best way to avoid disease is to develop and maintain healthy habits. Routine health screenings is a great healthy habit to have. Healthy women ages 21-65 should have a Pap test every 3 years. If you test negative for HPV and are between age 30-65 you can extend the Pap test screening interval to only every 5 years if you have no other risk factors. Healthy women ages 30-50 should have a clinical breast exam every 3 years. Healthy women ages 50-74 should have a mammogram every 2 years.
