While California recognizes Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) as licensed primary care providers, insurance coverage varies significantly. Some of our patients have been able to get reimbursed by their insurance company for our services. Most PPO insurances cover some labs & imaging ordered by Dr. Dzvonick. Many of our patients use their HSA or FSA accounts to pay for their care. Medicare plans do not cover our services.
Our prices for visits are listed here. Overall costs vary based on your case and what diagnostic tests and treatment plans the doctor orders for you. The average amount of money a new patient pays on their first visit is $817 considering the average patient does the “Brief” visit, has 1 set of lab tests ordered and purchases 2 dietary supplements/herbal tinctures. The greatest expense are fees for lab tests. Lab tests are not always required and treatment plans are often given without lab tests.
No. Laboratory testing is performed by our lab partners and they charge a separate fee for their service. Most PPO health insurance plans cover basic labs ordered by the doctor. However please keep in mind that the doctor charges a separate fee for his expertise in interpreting test results.

Naturopathic Medicine is a unique and distinct system of health care that emphasizes the use of prevention and natural therapeutics. The doctors who practice naturopathic medicine, called naturopathic doctors (NDs), are trained to serve as primary care general practitioners who are experts in the prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment of both acute and chronic health conditions.
Naturopathic doctors are trained at accredited, four-year, post-graduate, residential naturopathic medical programs. The training consists of comprehensive study of the conventional medical sciences, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology, immunology, clinical and physical diagnosis, laboratory diagnosis, cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, etc., as well as detailed study of a wide variety of natural therapies.
