Most Asked Question

Are naturopathic doctors covered by insurance in California?

While most California health insurance plans don’t currently cover visits with naturopathic doctors, some plans may offer out-of-network reimbursement for our services.

Ways to Save

Put your HSA or FSA to work for you.

  • Use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card to pay for our services.
  • For patients with PPO insurance most labs and imaging studies ordered by us are covered at your in-network lab.
  • Ask your health insurance provider if you can be reimbursed for Naturopathic Doctor services.

What Happens on a Visit at California Naturopathic Clinic?

How we work.

1Dr. Dzvonick is currently licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in the state of California only. To ensure compliance with state regulations, Telemedicine consultations are only available to patients who are physically located in California at the time of their appointment.

2Laboratory and imaging fees are an additional expense paid to the lab through our account. Some PPO insurance companies may pay for or reimburse you for lab fees. Please contact your insurance company for details.

3We consider you an established patient if you’ve seen Dr. Dzvonick within the past 3 years. To ensure continuity of care, if it’s been longer than 3 years since your last visit, we require scheduling a new patient appointment to re-establish your medical history. New intravenous (IV) therapy patients for high-dose vitamin C require an initial consultation, billed at $147. See “Other Pricing”.

4Before receiving IV therapy, all new patients will complete a brief intake assessment. This assessment helps us determine if IV therapy is the most suitable treatment for your current health condition. The doctor will review the intake information and make the final decision on your treatment plan.

5This is a separate charge from the lab’s fees. We will collect the lab’s fees on the day of your appointment as well.

This applies to lab tests ordered through specialty labs such as: Doctor’s Data (Labrix), Diagnostic Solutions, Alletess, Genova, Vibrant Wellness, Precision Analytical (DUTCH), SpectraCell Laboratories, ImmunoLabs, and others.

6This is a separate charge from the lab’s fees and any co-payments you might make directly to the lab. In addition to the doctor’s interpretation fee, we collect the lab’s fees, including those for the tests and phlebotomy on the day of your appointment. Because we share our contracted discount with you, the price you pay is often lower than what you would be charged at the lab if you paid them out of pocket.

This applies to lab tests ordered through common labs such as: LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics.

The price is capped at 6 lab test numbers, so this fee is never above $120.

7Applies to all image studies ordered by the doctor. The doctor does not interpret images directly; he provides expert analysis of the image report made by the radiologist or specialist.

8For new patients wanting to schedule intravenous (IV) therapy an initial consultation is required.

9“Medical Paperwork” includes forms requested to be filled out by the doctor or staff such as letters of medical necessity, school forms, insurance forms and employee forms.

All pricing subject to change.
